As a former elite gymnast myself, I truly understand the mental struggle gymnasts face while at the gym. As a gymnast, I had the physical abilities, but what held me back was my mind. I was flooded with negative thinking and fear and it kept me from achieving my full potential. It was actually my fear and negative thinking that caused me to fall out of love with the sport. After quitting, I realized it wasn’t the sport I didn’t love, it was my negative mindset that was taking the fun out of the sport. In high school, I took a psychology class and I immediately became amazed at how the brain works and why humans behave the way they do! After taking my high school psychology class, I knew exactly what I wanted to study in college. I have my B.S. in Psychology and my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have gone to numerous trainings on meditation and have made that the foundation of all my programs. It was through therapy and meditation that I learned how to conquer my negative thinking, as well as reduce anxiety and reduce depression.

In addition to being a gymnast, I was also a gymnastics coach for over 10 years; however, as a coach I soon realized I wanted to change my focus with how I worked with gymnasts. I worked with so many young girls that were suffering from anxiety, fear, and low self confidence. I knew that was what I specifically wanted to help them with.  I had been that young girl suffering from fear, low self confidence, and anxiety and I knew first hand how that negative mindset affected not only gymnastics but affected my entire life in my teen years. I have spent over 15 years training my brain through meditation and I want to share my knowledge and teach as many gymnasts as I can so they can be provided with the tools to not only become confident and fearless gymnasts in the gym, but to become confident and positive adults. I know if children are given these tools at a young age, it will only set them up for success in the future!
